Install & Connect
Devices ship pre-provisioned by your provider, so there is nothing to register, no key to copy, and nothing to type on a command line. Power it up and confirm it is online.

Bring the site online
Section titled “Bring the site online”-
Mount the sensors and the edge device
Section titled “Mount the sensors and the edge device”Follow the sensor vendor’s instructions, at the positions your site plan established. If this is not done yet, see Mounting the sensors.

Plug in power
Section titled “Plug in power”Give the sensors and the edge device power and a wired network connection. They come online on their own.

Get your cloud sign-in
Section titled “Get your cloud sign-in”Ask your provider for an invitation to your organization in the cloud portal. They create the first account; after that, an administrator in your organization can invite everyone else.

Check the device is green
Section titled “Check the device is green”Sign in to the cloud portal and look at your site: the device shows green when it is reporting. If you are not using the cloud, open the local portal instead — ask your provider for its address and how to reach it from your network.

Network
Section titled “Network”The device needs a wired connection and a stable address on your LAN — a DHCP reservation or a static IP, since people bookmark the local portal.
It makes outbound HTTPS connections only and needs no inbound ports from the internet. If your network filters outbound traffic by destination, ask your provider for the destinations to allow.
Put the device on a trusted internal network, the same treatment you would give a PLC or a scale head. It does not need to be reachable from the public internet.
Working offline
Section titled “Working offline”The edge device is the source of record, which changes what an outage means.
- It keeps measuring with no connection at all. Capture, floor modeling, volume computation, and obstruction handling all run on the box.
- The local portal keeps working. Anyone on the site network can see live volumes, look at the 3D scene, and set zones up.
- It catches the cloud up on reconnect. Measurements taken while disconnected are queued and synced when the link returns.
- Sign-in survives roughly 30 days offline, so a long disconnection does not lock operators out of their own site.
A device that stops checking in is marked stale first and offline after that. How long each takes depends on how often the device is set to report, so a device reporting every minute is marked stale within a few minutes while one on a slower schedule takes longer — your provider sets that schedule with you.
Either marker means the cloud has not heard from the device recently, not that the site stopped measuring. Check the local portal before treating it as a data outage: a network problem is a reporting problem, not a measurement problem.
