Quick Start

This guide takes you from signing in to reading a live inventory number. It assumes your hardware is powered on, showing green in the portal, and you can see a scan of your site.

1. Sign in

   Open your portal in a web browser and sign in. Your account belongs to an organization — the company or business unit whose inventory you manage. Every site, zone, and measurement you see is scoped to it and isolated from every other organization. If you belong to more than one organization, you can switch between them from the account menu. If you can’t sign in, ask your administrator for an invitation.

2. Understand the layout

   • A site is a physical facility — a plant, terminal, elevator, or yard.
   • A zone is one measured area of storage inside it — a bay, bunker, silo, or open pile.

   Set a zone up once and its material is measured automatically from then on. For the full mental model, see Zones & Sites.

3. Create a zone and draw its footprint

   Open a site (or create one). A site page shows every zone it contains with its latest number.

   Open the site’s 3D viewer and choose Edit Zones → Add Zone. Then:

   • Name it — how the zone appears on dashboards.

   • Draw the footprint around the pile or area you want measured. Every later measurement is computed inside that outline.

   • Set the material and density if you know them. Density converts measured volume into tonnage. Both are optional and can be set later.

   • Choose ground detection — how the floor under the material is established. Two choices:

     • Dynamic — the platform models the floor from the bare ground it can see inside your footprint, at every measurement. Right for open piles.
     • Empty scan — clear the zone and scan it empty. The floor’s real contour, plus any permanent structures standing in it, becomes the zone’s baseline. The right call for bays and bunkers.

   Obstruction-aware volume is on by default; it holds the zone’s volume while equipment or people are detected inside it. Capacity and the display unit (m³, ft³, tons, or bushels) live under Advanced settings.

   Tip

   Draw the footprint larger than the material. For a free-standing pile that leaves room for it to grow and shift, and it gives us enough visible floor to model the ground dynamically. For a bay or bunker, an empty scan is the better route, because it captures the exact structure.

   Caution

   Creating or editing a zone requires the Editor role (or Admin) on that site. A Viewer can open the 3D viewer but not change anything in it.

4. Let the scans arrive

   Nothing to do here. Fixed sensors capture continuously, with no manual step. The material only has to be visible to the sensor.

5. Read your results

   Open a zone to see its detail page:

   • Volume — the measured volume of material, in your chosen unit.
   • Fill level — volume as a percentage of capacity, once capacity is set.
   • Tonnage — volume converted using the zone’s density, once a density is set.
   • Trend and projection — how the number is moving, and roughly how long the material would last at the current rate. Trends and projections need enough time to observe consumption before they mean anything, so expect them to fill in over the first days of use.

   Each zone also offers a 3D view of the captured surface.

   Live zones and obstructions

   You can turn on live mode for a whole site or a single zone to watch what the sensor sees. While obstruction handling is on, equipment or people inside a zone raise an Obstruction badge and the last number is held until they leave; you’ll see Stabilizing… just after the view clears.    What a steady number means

   At rest a zone’s published volume sits still; it steps when consecutive readings agree the pile changed. A flat line means nothing was added or drawn down, and a step means a real load landed.

6. Stay ahead of changes

   Numbers on a screen are the start. Alert rules are what turn them into something you act on before it costs you.

   • Days of stock left — alert when a zone is projected to run out inside the window you choose, so you order before you run dry instead of after.
   • Percentage thresholds — alert on fill level crossing a level you set, in either direction: low enough to reorder, high enough to stop a delivery overfilling a bay.
   • Volume or tonnage thresholds — the same idea in absolute terms, above or below a number you choose.

   Set rules from the site’s Alerts page, and use the test button to check one before you rely on it. Alerts reach people by email, on the bell in the portal, or both — each person chooses, per site, and everyone with access to the site starts subscribed.
